Comorin School has transformed and moulded my daughter from a mere child to a studious, ...
Meenakshi Gnana...Our children are the torch bearers of our nation's future. Today's children will be entrusted with the task of taking our nation to greater heights in the years to come. As the world moves forward at a great pace, quality education for our children will only equip them to emerge as leaders of tomorrow. With this thought the Comorin International School has been conceptualized by the Thiyagi Elango Memorial Trust under the astute leadership of Er.E.Lekshmanan.
It’s a pleasure to introduce you to Comorin International School located in the southernmost district of India, Kanyakumari flanked by the picturesque western ghats on one side and the open seas on the other.
You are welcome to visit our school, whether you are a prospective parent looking for a good education for your child, a teacher interested in the process of building a happy, congenial and dynamic working atmosphere, or just interested in what this International Education can offer.
Inspiring our students to achieve their full potential and to passionately pursue excellence in everything they do. Promoting honesty and integrity in our interactions with one another.
Prioritizing the needs of the student and providing a balanced education to each student.
Embracing change through successful use of collaborative practices, research and technology.
To provide quality education in an atmosphere that encourages learning and awareness of the truth, while nurturing and developing the character of the pupils helping them to make meaningful connections between the classroom and the world at large thereby preparing to positively contribute in a globally competitive world.
Kanyakumari is in need of schools which can genuinely think beyond examinations and marks. Comorin International School aims to fill this lacunae. Its philosophy is based on the twin convictions of non-competitive and non-comparative concepts of education; placing emphasis in the development of a child's individuality.
Constructivist philosophy coupled with a strong belief that music, art and sports are essential to building character and personality, Comorin is an attempt to let children rediscover the happiness of childhood and then blossom to become young boys and girls who will have the courage to think differently.
We are on the look out for young or old but energetic people willing to contribute to this initiative. We invite people to join the school even if it is for a year or two. Needed most importantly are people who can speak well in English and in addition can multitask or those who have a love for languages, art, music and sports. Salary will not be a constraint and would be as per the 6th pay commission; accommodation and food on campus is also available; education of children (if a family is joining) will also be taken care of. We are also looking out for a person to take charge of teaching computers as well as look after this field of technology for the school.
There is scope to build a rich career for a person. We aim to provide a creative and exciting environment for children. With hills of western ghats surrounding us opportunities for adventure and stamina building too are in plenty.
The team will be lead by Dr.Geetha Iyer, who has recently taken on the responsibility of the school as its Director. She has a Ph.D in education and has several years of teaching and administrative experience, some of which at the country’s premier institution such as Rishi Valley School. A widely travelled person Dr.Iyer has also written text books on Environment and authored one on Natural History. Her work can be seen at her website www.biologyeducation.net.
