Class VIII serves as a preparatory year for the ICSE programme in class IX and X. Students study English as the first language, Hindi/Tamil/French as the second language and Mathematics, History, Civics and Geography, Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology), PE and Computer studies as core subjects.
ICSE curriculum starts with an emphasis on learning basis facts and gradually moves to detailed understanding of concepts, through interpretation and evaluation as students progress to higher classes. It is built around the principles of knowledge, understanding and application and skill sets. The programmee aims to empower children to contribute towards a humane, just and pluralistic society, and promote introspective living.
ISC Examination is a public board examination conducted by the Council for the Indian School certificate Examinations (CISCE) through the medium of English, in accordance with the recommendations of New Education Policy 1986. Private candidates are not permitted to appear for the examination. Indian school certificate qualification is a qualification form India that has been granted special recognition for seeking entry in Universities in the UK and other overseas Universities in the common wealth.
